Basketball

The Pre-Kindergarten basketball program for 4 and 5 year olds. This program is an introduction to basketball skills and drills.  It is a fun program for the little ones, to inspire love of the game.   

Saturday Mornings: 8:00 am
Program Dates: December 3, 10, 17 and January 7, 14, 21, 28

Registration deadline: November 17, 2022
Cost is $75.00 (billed through Fast Direct)
A fee reduction or full fee waiver
may be available on an as needed basis.



 

Our goal is to instill a love of basketball and to provide a solid understanding of the fundamental skills associated with the game at an age appropriate level.
We encourage participation for players of all levels. 
The Kindergarten through 1st Grade Co-ed Basketball program meets and play games on  Saturday mornings or early afternoons at the Craig and Dolly Foster Gym at the Father Hayes Center, or Holy Cross Gym in South Portland.

St. Brigid School girls and boys in Grades 4 and 5 are encouraged to register for the Caldwell Basketball League through the Portland Recreation Department. The Caldwell League run by the Portland Rec Department features school-based teams for players of all abilities. The league focuses on developing fundamental skills in a fun environment. Practice during the week is at East End School, Gerald E. Talbot Community School, or Amanda C. Rowe School. Games are played on Saturdays.
Volunteer coaches are needed.

The season starts in November and runs through January.

Cost: $80 for residents/$90 for non-residents. Fee waivers are available.
Registration deadline: Oct. 26, 2022
 

This league is run by Portland Recreation Department in conjunction with South Portland and Waynflete.
School-based teams are open to players of all levels of ability and experience. Games will begin in early December and run through the end of January. They will take place on weekday afternoons/evenings at Amanda C. Rowe School, King Middle School, Lyman Moore Middle School, and Lincoln Middle School. The practice schedule will be forthcoming.
