Our "Poetry Queen", Mrs. Newman once again, inspires student to use the art of writing to compose a poem, which was chosen as a 2nd place winner out of over 1,000 entries!
After a two year self study process, and evaluation by visiting teams from New England Association of Schools and Colleges, St. Brigid has earned accreditation!
The gym in the Fr. Hayes Building will be known as the Craig and Dolly Foster Gymnasium, after their generous gift ensures St. Brigid School will continue to grow and thrive.
Caring for others is an important lesson St. Brigid students learn and put into practice often. This Catholic Schools' Week gives them a chance to demonstrate a ritual of the school's namesake by helping Preble Street serve the homeless population.
Catholic Schools' Week 2022 began with a Mass at St. Joseph's Church, bringing together St. Brigid School, Our Lady of Hope Parish, and Cheverus High School.
Businesses sponsored the event, students solicited donations and jumped with joy to raise money for our school! The efforts this year exceeded those of last year. It is wonderful to have the support of the entire community!
One of two school-wide service projects during National Catholic Schools Week involved students collecting items and creating bags that will be handed out to recipients of the Maine Needs organization in Portland, Maine.
Students in all of our grades touched the lives of many through various acts of kindness and generosity on Giving Tuesday. "Love thy Neighbor" was put into action and brought smiles and sunshine on a dreary day.
For generations, St. Brigid School has hosted the Annual Harvest Fair Fundraiser, but due to Covid restrictions, it was not possible to present this safely. Development Director, Courtney Morgan took a different path for this year's fundraiser and the event was wildly successful, raising $20,000!
