Drop Off & Pick Up Policies

Grades Pre-K through 5: 8:00 am – 2:45 pm. Students are encouraged to arrive at school by 7:45 am to prepare for their day.  Those who are not in their homeroom at 8:00 am are considered tardy.  

Grades 6 through 8: 7:45 am – 2:30 pm. Students are encouraged to arrive at school by 7:30 am.  Those who are not in their seats in their homeroom at 7:45 am are considered tardy. 

Early Release Days: Grades 6 though 8 are released at 11:15 am; grades Pre-K through 5 are dismissed at 11:30 am. Check the calendar to find out when early release dates are throughout the school year.  

ALL students are asked to be dropped off and picked up in the drive-thru. This includes Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students.

The drive-thru is open from 7:00 am - 8:00 am and from 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm.  The gate is closed during school operating hours.

Drive-Thru Procedures:

• ENTER the drive-thru via the Elmwood Street back gate. Stay to the right in a single line as the traffic in the back parking lot is two-way.

• The Drop-off / Pick-up is the area in between the school buildings and the playground. Students will be oriented to the drive-thru lane in a “safety zone” between the main school building and Father Hayes Center marked by orange cones.  Students will line up for pick-up by class with their teacher.

• If your child/children are not present when you arrive at the drop-off/ pick-up area, please proceed around for a second try.  To ensure efficient traffic flow, do not park in the drive-thru line behind the building or in the drop-off/pick up area. 

• Once your child/children have been dropped off/picked up, vehicles will exit the school property onto Stevens Ave.

• Pedestrians who enter the school yard must use crosswalks and striped walkways at all times.  Do not walk across drive-thru lanes except at the crosswalk located at the playground entrance.  If you are parking in the school parking lot, please walk around the back of the building and enter the school yard on the Elmwood Street side of the building.

• DRIVE-THRU SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MILES PER HOUR! Please proceed slowly before and after dropping off or picking up your child or children.

• Please be patient, considerate and respectful of others when utilizing the drive-thru.
